What is Deficite
Deficite is a calorie deficit, nutrition, and workout tracking app for iPhone. It lets you track your calorie deficit, body weight, macronutrients, and training sessions; search for foods by name; and export your personal data. Nutritional data is sourced from Open Food Facts via a backend server operated by the developer. All personal data is stored locally on your device. Deficite is published by Alejandro Ahijado Ibarra, an independent developer.
Purchase and payment
Deficite is a paid app sold at a one-time upfront price through the Apple App Store.
There are no in-app purchases, subscriptions, or additional charges within the app.
The one-time purchase grants you access to the full app, including all current features and future updates distributed through the same version.
Refunds are handled exclusively by Apple in accordance with their App Store refund policy. The developer has no control over the refund process.
Not medical or nutritional advice
Deficite is a personal tracking tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, dietary, or nutritional advice.
Calorie and nutrient data comes from third-party food databases and may not be complete, accurate, or up to date for every food item.
Workout and activity data is for personal logging purposes only and is not a substitute for guidance from a qualified fitness or health professional.
Do not make health or medical decisions based solely on information shown in Deficite. Consult a qualified healthcare or nutrition professional for personalised guidance.
The developer is not responsible for any health consequences arising from use of nutritional or activity data provided by the app.
Nutritional data accuracy
Nutritional values are provided by Open Food Facts. The developer does not verify or guarantee the accuracy of this data.
Values may vary depending on food source, preparation method, or product variation.
Always check the official packaging or a qualified source for accurate nutritional information when precision matters.
Apple HealthKit
Deficite can optionally integrate with Apple HealthKit to read health and fitness data and write back nutritional and workout data.
HealthKit integration is entirely optional. You control which data types Deficite may access through iOS system permissions.
Data exchanged with HealthKit is processed only on your device. It is not sent to the developer's servers.
You may revoke HealthKit access at any time in iOS Settings.
Data exports
Deficite lets you export your personal data — including food diary history, nutrition summaries, weight log, and workout records — as files you can save or share.
Exported files are generated entirely on your device. No data passes through the developer's servers during an export.
You are solely responsible for how you store, share, or use any exported files.
Acceptable use
You may use Deficite only for lawful, personal purposes and in accordance with these terms.
You must not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or circumvent any part of the app or its backend services.
You must not use the app's backend API in an abusive, automated, or unauthorised manner.
Availability and changes
The developer may update, modify, or discontinue features of Deficite at any time.
The availability of food search depends on Open Food Facts, a third-party service outside the developer's control.
The app is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.
Termination
The developer reserves the right to terminate or suspend access to Deficite's backend services if you violate these terms or if required by applicable law.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Deficite, including any health outcomes or decisions based on nutritional or activity data displayed in the app. The app is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to conflict of law principles.
